Christie’s Amsterdam had a space problem. The historic premises were full and overburdened. Our challenge was to create flexibility in a space needed for a wide range of uses, including a public gallery and meeting place, auction hall, lobby, conference rooms and public washrooms.
We chose a modern, modest design, giving space and pride of place to the wide variety of art that has its temporary home here.
Getting the work done was logistically challenging and done in downtime, as ‘the show must go on’.
