Nature Shows Off

The award-winning Zoo at Emmen, Holland, is also home to a botanical garden and museum of natural history, with a large fossil collection. These wonders of the natural world were our inspiration when we redesigned the gardens, greenhouse and exhibition space.

A sunbathing butterfly made of brick marks the entrance; a tunnel through to the exhibition area, made of moving LED lights, symbolizes a ‘stream of sap’ flowing through a plant.

We created a strong palette of exhibitions and educational materials, always inspired by the natural form, such as the TV-monitor-turned-flower showing short educational videos and slideshows.
