Inside Out Stunning
Location, location, location. Nestled on the edge of the North Saskatchewan River Valley, in the exclusive neighbourhood of Quesnell Heights, this home was built to honour the stunning views, natural light and inside/outside relationship. A series of balconies, patios and terraces make the most of the beautiful panorama, creating many spaces to enjoy the view, entertain and relax. The walkout basement connects with the large garden, sloping down to the river. The portico-like open enclosure on the front patio, not only creates yet another spot to enjoy the outside, but also minimizes the visual impact of the large garage. The portico also guides visitors gradually towards the front door. The owners wanted a minimalist theme using modern, cubist design elements and a simple yet rich palette of materials: Stucco in two colors, cedar, steel and lots of glass.
